Rakeback FAQs

Can I get a Rakeback deal at a poker room where I have an existing account?

When will I get paid?

Most payments are made directly to your poker account with that room within 7 working days of the previous month end. Exceptions to this include Absolute and UltimateBet who pay on or before the 15th of the month. Full Tilt and William Hill pay weekly and Betfair pay twice a month.

Why do I have negative rakeback at Full Tilt?

Full Tilt deduct for a number of things from a player's rake before they calculate rakeback.
  1. Bonus
  2. Deposit transaction fees (you should not withdraw and re-deposit unnecessarily)
  3. Some withdrawal fees ($15.00 for Cheques)
  4. Items bought in the FT store (at $0.005 per point from your rake - or $0.00135 from your rakeback 27%)
  5. Any tournaments you enter where there is a guaranteed prize and there is a shortfall in players.
Just to be clear the freerolls that we give you at Full Tilt do not count against any rake!

How is rake calculated at my poker room?

There are three basic methods of rake calculation.
  • Dealt Cards:
If you are dealt cards in a hand then you are deemed to have contributed to the pot and therefore you are allocated an equal share of the rake taken. This is regardless of whether you fold straight away or not. If for example the rake taken on a particular table is $3 and there are six of you playing, then your rake consideration is $0.50. Examples: Full Tilt, Cake, PlayersOnly, Red Star
  • Average Contributed:
Similar to the dealt cards method as above in terms of the calculation, but you must contribute at least something to the pot. If you fold without contributing to the pot then your rake consideration is zero. If for example the pot on a particular table was $60 the rake taken is $3. Even if you contributed only $2 to the pot and there are six of you playing (but two folded pre-flop) then you get allocated a quarter of the rake as 4 people in total contributed to the pot. Examples: UltimateBet, Betfair, Absolute
  • Weighted Contributed:
You simply get allocated the weighted proportion of the pot that you contributed. If for example the pot was $60, the rake taken is $3. If you put in $2 to the pot then your rake consideration is (2/60 * $3) or $0.10. Examples: Unibet, Poker Heaven, Fortune, InterPoker, Carbon, Devilfish

I have an existing account with Full Tilt can I get rakeback there?

Please see this answer.

What is Rakeback?

Online poker rooms make their money by automatically taking a cut of the players' stake money; this is called the 'rake'. Typically the rake is 5% of every pot, you will often see it being taken and stacked at the top of the table during a game. Playing a few hundred hands a month soon accumulates a large amount of rake, and you could be paying tens of thousands of $$$ a year in rake. Most players don't realise they can get up to 60% of their rake money back with a rakeback professional.

How do I earn Rakeback?

Earning your rakeback is easy. Simply select a poker room and follow the sign up instructions. Start playing poker and start earning rakeback. You can check your rakeback earnings daily through our secure rakeback tracker and you'll receive your rakeback money, promptly every month by your chosen payment option. You can sign up to as many rooms as you like through us. There is no limit to the number of rooms you can get rakeback from.

Do I lose my rakeback if I select Neteller as a payment method and I don't reach $50 in a given month?

No. Payments under $50 will roll over to the following month. The only exceptions are any rooms where you must reach minimum rake levels. Please see each poker room page for any minimum rake levels. Why have I not been paid all of the rake back I have earned as per my Rakeback Account page at Full Tilt?

As you may have all know now, the Full Tilt payments are being paid weekly from now on (paid Fridays for the prior Tuesday-Monday 7 day period)

When you log in to your rake tracker on our site you will still see the total FT Rake for the current month and also the current total Rakeback without any deductions for payments already received by you from FT.

This is exactly the same as the system used for months by all players at rooms that pay daily or weekly, e.g. William Hill, PokerPlex, Carbon, Nordica etc. So the majority of you should not have any problem keeping approximate track of your rakeback during any given month.

We are working on a way to display the Full Tilt data so that you know how much has been paid and what is still owed for the current week. This will take time to implement because the monthly referral calculations depend on the whole month’s data and are not calculated on a weekly basis.

Until we have the new system in place, you can keep track of how much you have received by using the History function in the Full Tilt Cashier. In addition when FT make each weekly payment, you will receive an email notifying you of the transfer from [email protected]. You should make sure that your email does not put these in to spam or junk.

To view your Full Tilt Transactions follow this process

Log in to Full Tilt
Select CASHIER
Select HISTORY
Select Past Transactions Here you can see ALL payments received from us during the month.

How does the Iron Man promo at Full Tilt affect me?

If you exchange your medals for Full Tilt points in the Iron Man Store and then spend those points in the regular FT store, they will affect your rakeback.
If you exchange your medals for bonuses in the Iron Man Store, these bonuses affect your rakeback just like normal bonuses. Remember it is still ALWAYS better to have rakeback and bonuses rather than just rakeback.
If you exchange your medals for tournament tokens, they will not affect your rakeback unless the tournament has a cash overlay.
Other purchases in the Iron Man Store do not affect your rakeback

Do I have to send money when my Full Tilt rakeback account is negative?

No. We NEVER ask you to send us money when your rake/rakeback is negative.

Will my negative rake balance be carried over to the next month?

Yes and it may be offset against positive rake at other poker rooms.

Can I initially fund my account with a player to player transfer to get Rakeback?

You can receive Player to Player transfers at the following sites: Full Tilt, UltimateBet, Absolute Poker and Cake.
  • Full Tilt - A player-to-player transfer will trigger rakeback on your account.
  • UltimateBet - player-to-player transfers will not trigger rakeback on an account. You must deposit and play 100 hands
  • Absolute Poker - player-to-player transfers will not trigger rakeback on an account. You must deposit and play 100 hands
  • Cake - A player-to-player transfer will trigger rakeback on your account.

I have an account at Absolute Poker can I still sign up for rakeback?

Please see this answer.

If I buy an item in the Full Tilt store does it affect my rakeback?

Each Full Tilt point is worth $0.005 in MGR. Because you get 27% rakeback at Full Tilt, each point spent costs you $0.00135 in rakeback. Example: Spending 20,000 points will affect your rakeback by $27.

Poker Tracker (or Poker Office) says that I have raked a lot more than my rake tracker statistics. Why is there a difference?

In general poker tracking software is not an accurate reflection of the rake you have paid at any poker room. This is because they (the poker tracking software) tend to use the Dealt Method of rake calculation. This does not account for the majority of poker rooms on networks that use the Average Contributed or Weighted Contributed. In addition these systems do not take in to account bonuses that have been deducted or any transaction fees or other costs that a poker room might be deducting. Also the data that we get from the poker rooms for your rakeback statistics are often 24-48 hours behind real time whereas poker tracking software tends to be live.

Do Happy Hour points at Full Tilt count towards the qualification for freerolls?

Yes, they count as they are earned points.

How much Rakeback can I expect to earn back?

The amount of rakeback you can expect to earn obviously varies from player to player. It depends how often you play, what size (stakes) tables you play, and how many tables you play at once. All this contributes to the total rake that you pay, and therefore how much you can earn back.

For the Dealt Method of rakeback:

As a guide going forward the approximate rake that you pay in a month can be calculated using the following formula:

Number of hands per hour = A
Average rake = (Average Pot size x 5% (up to a maximum of 3$) = B
Number of players per table = C
Number of hours you play a day = D
Number of days you play a month = E
Number of tables you play at once = F
Total rake you pay a month = (AxBxDxExF) divided by C
For Average Contributed and Average Weighted it is not possibly to get an accurate method because of the different styles of play of each player. As a very rough guide if you are a very loose player the rakeback calculation above is close, but if you are very tight then the rakeback calculation would be about 40% of the total you get above.

Will bonuses affect my Rakeback?

Some rooms deduct bonuses from your rake (before the rakeback is calculated). Some do not. You will need to check the summary table on any of our poker room pages to see who deducts and who does not.

NB. It is always better to get rakeback + bonus, rather than just rakeback even if the bonus is deducted from your rake.

Here's a quick example of why.

Let's say you sign up and rake $1,000 in your first month.
Let's also assume you get a $300 bonus
Your net rake is $700
Let's assume for ease you are on 30% rakeback
You will get $210 (30% of $700) back
Plus you got the $300 bonus
Total comp is $510 (effectively 51% rakeback on your $1000)

Now let's assume you play the same amount without a bonus.
Bonus = 0
Net rake = $1000
Rakeback at 30% = $300
Total Comp = $300
Effective 30% rakeback on your $1000
Instantly you can see that it is better to have rakeback + bonus rather than just rakeback

Is there a minimum amount I need to rake to receive rakeback?

At most rooms there is no minimum amount you must rake to receive rakeback.

However rooms on the Boss network require that you rake at least €100 in a month to get rakeback. If you do not reach €100, the amount you did rake is not carried forward to the following month

How can I work out how much rake I pay?

Can I get Rakeback on the fees I pay for tournament and SnGs?

Almost all rooms pay rakeback on Tournament and SnG fees.
For example:
If you enter a tournament where the buy-in is $100 + $10 then you will get rakeback on the $10
You should check the summary table on the relevant poker room page on our site to make sure.

How are you guys able to get my rake money back?

We get paid by the poker rooms for bringing new players to their site. The commission we receive for signing you up to a poker room is based on the rake you generate by playing. We then give the majority of this commission back to you as rakeback. The partnerships we have built with the largest selection of poker rooms boasted by any other affiliate allow us to offer up to 60% rakeback PLUS you can play for over $500,000 a month in exclusive promotions, winning cash or all expenses paid packages to worldwide live events. It's simple, it's free and it can add up to tens of thousands of $$$ a year!

How do I check I've been paid?

To check if you have been paid you will need to login to Your Rakeback Account. You should then select the month you are querying from the dropdown menu. You will then be able to view the date paid out, payment method and amount of any payments made under your rakeback tab. The Paid Out box will have a check mark in it if payment has been made. You should also be able to check in your transaction history at your poker room for any payments made
